We Love you Planet Earth!

Well, today is "Earth Day". I would say that planet Earth has been pretty good to us, so it's only fair that we give a little love back. So, if you are out and about today, lay down on the ground and give old planet Earth a big hug. In addition, it wouldn't hurt to recycle something today, or turn off a few lights in the house.

If you want to go out on the town tonight, here's a good Jazz option:

St. Patricks Day

Well, tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day so, our recommendation (for those of you who don't mind going out on a Monday night during lent) -- is to Celebrate it at one of DC's many Irish Pubs. Here's a few to start with:

Ireland’S Four Provinces

3412 Connecticut Ave., NW Washington, DC

(202) 244-0860.

The Dubliner

520 N. Capitol St., NW Washington, DC

(202) 737-3773.

Fado Irish Pub

808 Seventh St., NW Washington, DC

(202) 789-0066.

Kelly's Irish Times

14 F Street, NW Washington, DC

(202) 543-5433.

Irish Channel Pub

500 H St.

NW, Washington, DC

(202) 216-0046.

And, as a brief history reminder, here's the man behind St. Patricks Day.

Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and is the patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain. He was captured by Irish raiders when he was 16 and then brought to Ireland. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father and entered the church. Eventually he became an missionary in Ireland. His missionary work is what led him to be the patron saint of Ireland.

MusicDC.com

For our first entry I thought it would be fitting to give you a little history on MusicDC.com. Music DC formed in the summer of 1998 as an online source for music information in the DC/Metro area.

Over the years it has expanded to include Music News Feeds from various sources, DC Bar and Club Info, Artists, Music jobs and much more.

In the recent weeks, the site has further expanded to include shopping, national music jobs, tickets and photos. We have also started to expand coverage to other cities including: London, Portland and New York.

Thanks for dropping in and visiting.
