It's that time of year again to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The National Shamrock Fest in Washington DC, is the largest and most exciting Saint Paddy's festival on the East Coast featuring more than 40 live bands and DJ's. The event takes place on March 13th, and lasts from 1 - 9pm.

Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and is the patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick was born in Roman Britain. He was captured by Irish raiders when he was 16 and then brought to Ireland. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father and entered the church. Eventually he became an missionary in Ireland. His missionary work is what led him to be the patron saint of Ireland.
